Exercise 1.4: Identifying Types of Players

  1. A. Identify a 501c3 or 501c4 organization that seeks to influence governmental policy on your societal category and identify a player within the organization. You may want to contact this player later in the course. No source is needed for this exercise, unless you quote directly. (4 points)


The Differences Between a 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4)     (Keep in mind as you read this link that these organizations can do one of the following or both: 

  1. seeks to influence governmental policy on your societal category
  2. organization that primarily provides direct assistance for the societal category
